Checked October 2026.
| Kit | MailerLite | |
|---|---|---|
| Pick it when | You want a newsletter and a free plan that goes up to 10,000 subscribers. | You are starting under 250 subscribers, or you want to compare MailerLite's yearly price at 500 subscribers. |
| What it does | Hosts an email newsletter. Kit was formerly called ConvertKit. The pricing page lists landing pages, forms, and email broadcasts. | Sends email newsletters and includes forms, a landing page, and automations. |
| Who it is for | People who want to email a list they already have and can start on a free plan with a subscriber cap. | People starting a small list who can live with a 250-subscriber free cap, or who want the yearly price shown at 500 subscribers. |
| Free plan | Free is $0 a month, up to 10,000 subscribers, with unlimited landing pages, forms, and email broadcasts. As of Oct 2026. | Free is $0 a month for 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month, with community support. As of Oct 2026. |
| Price we checked | For 1,000 subscribers with yearly billing selected, Creator is $33 a month ($390 billed yearly). Pro shows $50 a month for the first year ($593 billed) next to a crossed-out $66. The footnote says the discount is only for the first year and the plan renews at the standard rate. As of Oct 2026 at https://kit.com/pricing. | With yearly billing selected, the cards for 500 subscribers show Comfort at $10.80 a month ($129.60 billed yearly) and Power at $22.50 a month ($270 billed yearly). A monthly toggle is on the page. As of Oct 2026 at https://www.mailerlite.com/pricing. |
| The catch | The price changes with the subscriber count you select. A yearly figure is not the month-to-month bill, and a limited-time offer is not the renewal price. Removing Kit branding is listed on a paid plan. The Creator and Pro buttons offer a 14-day trial. Kit does not find subscribers. | The free plan caps the list at 250 subscribers. Paid prices move with the subscriber slider. The page offers a 14-day trial of the paid plans and says no card is required. |
