Best AI video generators for beginners
These tools make a video from words you already have. They do not film it for you, and they do not get views. InVideo is first because it builds a video from a script and stock footage. Fliki is next because it narrates a script. HeyGen puts a generated presenter on screen. Runway generates clips and spends credits by the second. VEED and Kapwing are editors that can also generate or caption. Fliki is the only affiliate Visit link on this page. That is not why it is second.

InVideo
- What it does
- Makes videos from a prompt or a script, using stock footage and generated clips, inside a credit system.
- Who it is for
- People who want a finished-looking video without filming.
- Free plan
- A lasting $0 plan was not clearly listed in the pricing text we read.
- Price we checked
- Starter is $20 per seat per month, or $10 per seat per month billed annually, with 400 credits. The next plan is $60 per seat per month, or $30 billed annually. A higher plan is $150 per seat per month, or $75 billed annually.
- The catch
- Prices are per seat. Generated video can use a face or voice that is not a real recording. Say so when you publish, and check you have rights to the clips.
2 · Free tier
Fliki
- What it does
- Turns a script or a short prompt into a video with an AI voiceover, pictures, and music.
- Who it is for
- People who already have the words and want a simple narrated video without filming.
- Free plan
- The free plan lists 3 credits a month, 720p video, and a Fliki watermark.
- Price we checked
- Free is $0 with 3 credits a month, 720p, and a watermark. Standard is $28 a month, or $21 a month billed yearly ($252). Premium is $88 a month, or $66 a month billed yearly ($792).

HeyGen
- What it does
- Makes videos of an on-screen presenter from a script, including translated versions.
- Who it is for
- People who need a talking-head video and will not film one. It is a poor fit if a real person should be the one on camera.
- Free plan
- The free plan allows 3 videos a month.
- Price we checked
- Free plan at $0 per month, with 3 videos a month. Creator is $29 per month. Pro is $49 per month. Business is $149 per month, and extra seats are $20 per seat.
- The catch
- The presenter is generated. Tell viewers the face and voice are synthetic. Monthly video and credit caps run out faster than the plan name suggests.
4 · Free tier
Runway
- What it does
- Generates and edits video and images from text, and spends credits by the second.
- Who it is for
- People experimenting with generated clips who can track a credit balance. Casual captioning is a better job for a simpler editor.
- Free plan
- Free credits are a one-time 125. They do not renew each month.
- Price we checked
- The free plan is a one-time deposit of 125 credits, not a monthly refill. On the yearly comparison, Standard is $12 per month, Pro is $28 per month, and Max is $76 per month. The cards also showed $15, $35, and $95 beside those figures.
- The catch
- A few seconds of video can use most of a small plan. The $12, $28, and $76 figures are the yearly-column prices. The higher numbers on the cards may be month-to-month. Check the toggle.

VEED
- What it does
- Edits, subtitles, and transcribes video in the browser, and can generate video from a prompt.
- Who it is for
- People who need subtitles on a clip they already filmed.
- Free plan
- The page says the editor is free to try. It did not spell out an ongoing free allowance versus a trial.
- Price we checked
- Free to start. On yearly billing, Creator is $147 per user a year, Pro is $265 per user a year, and Studio is $465 per user a year.
- The catch
- Browser editors in this category often watermark free exports. We could not confirm that from the text we saved. Read the export screen before you depend on it.
6 · Free tier
Kapwing
- What it does
- A browser video editor for trimming, subtitles, resizing, and simple AI voice or dubbing tasks.
- Who it is for
- Beginners making short social clips who would rather not learn a desktop editor.
- Free plan
- You can edit and export on the free plan. Exports carry a watermark and stop at 4 minutes.
- Price we checked
- Free plan at $0 with 10 credits, a watermark, and exports up to 4 minutes at 720p. Pro is listed at $16 with 1,000 credits a month. Business is listed at $50 with 4,000 credits a month. The cards tie those prices to monthly credit allowances, and the FAQ says paid plans are a recurring payment.
- The catch
- The free export is watermarked and short. Subtitles and dubbing spend credits. The page did not print the words 'per month' beside $16 and $50, so read the checkout line.

Questions
- Will these tools get views?
- No. A generated video is not an audience.
- Do I need all six?
- No. Pick one job: a stock video from a script, a narrated video, a presenter, or a short generated clip. An editor is a different job.
- Is a generated face a real person?
- No. HeyGen and similar tools put a synthetic presenter on screen. Say so when someone could mistake it for a real person.
- Which Visit link is an affiliate link?
- Fliki. InVideo, HeyGen, Runway, VEED, and Kapwing go to the official sites. The order is the job, not the commission.
